CHOCTAW. A mailing list for anyone with a genealogical interest in the Choctaw Indian tribe in Oklahoma (McCurtain County and neighboring counties). To subscribe send “subscribe” to choctaw-l-request@rootsweb.com (mail mode) or choctaw-d-request@rootsweb.com (digest mode).

Yahoo groups shut down in 2020

choctaw_and_cherokee_proud. A mailing list for anyone researching their Choctaw and Cherokee ancestry as well as ancestral links between these tribes and the Creek and Chickasaw tribes. The following two Yahoo groups seem to be repositories for SPAM as they appear to be un-moderated. There are few if any current serious entries.

CHOCTAW-SOUTHEAST. A mailing list for anyone with a genealogical interest in the Choctaw Tribe of Native Americans. While the list will emphasize those Choctaws who lived in the southeastern United States, namely Mississippi, Alabama and Louisiana, all Choctaw researchers are welcome.  To subscribe send “subscribe” to choctaw-southeast-l-request@rootsweb.com (mail mode) or choctaw-southeast-d-request@rootsweb.com (digest mode).

CHOCTAW-SURNAMES. A mailing list for the discussion and sharing of information regarding Native American surnames associated with the Choctaw Nation. Additional information can be found on the Welcome to Choctaw Surnames website.
